Layang Layang Island is an oceanic atoll and an exotic island situated in the middle of South China Sea approximately 300 km northwest of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. It is truly diver’s paradise and fondly known as “The Jewel of the Borneo Banks. Layang Layang island lies in 2,000m of ocean and, due partly to the dept, this atoll has become famous for sightings of large pelagic species and for wall diving. It is an hour flight north of Sabah’s capital Kota Kinabalu.

Layang Layang Island Resort is One Island One Dive Resort and it requires a return flight from Kota Kinabalu. There are 86 air-conditioned rooms in the resort – 30 standard rooms, 46 superior rooms and 8 deluxe rooms. Each room comes with its own fridge, TV and private verandah. The resort was designed to look like a Longhouse, the traditional community home of Borneo’s tribal people.

The resort also provide equipment rental service and a swimming pool that seems to merge with the sea in the background, which is a great spot to cool down, read a book or chill with a drink.
