Moorea
Moorea is Tahiti's little sister island, just 11 miles
away across the Sea of Moons. Tradition has it that Moorea was the
dorsal fin of the great fish of Tahiti. Moorea is one of the most
beautiful, mountainous landscape islands; souring magically out
of the ocean in an explosion of green velvet. A wide shallow lagoon
surrounds the islands vertical mountains, peaceful meadows and cool
waterfalls.
The diving offers clear water with hardly any currents,
they have a fabulous shark dive. In the lagoon they have great sting
rays (like Sting Ray city in Grand Cayman). Schools of jack fish,
leopard ray, sting ray, Napoleon Wrasse, eel and barracuda, not
to mention a wreck dive!
Exploring the Moorea's terrestrial charms can be the
highlight of your holiday on this island blessed by nature's finest
natural gifts. You can rent cars or jeeps, scooters, bicycle or
go by taxi or bus tours. Steep fields of pineapples and vanilla
will fill your senses and renew your belief in the majesty of nature.
Pastel-painted houses often made of bamboo and thatched roofs, surrounded
by gardens of hyacinth and birds of paradise, circle the island
in a fantasy of lovely, yet simple architecture.
Moorea is definitely a must stop while you are in
Tahiti, as she is exceptionally beautiful and exactly what you would
imagine a tranquil South Sea island to be. All who have traveled
here agree, the beauty of Moorea is unforgettable.
Accmmodations range from inexpensive small hotels
to ultra deluxe over the water bungalows.
Dive operations are very safe and accommodating to
all level of divers.
