M/V Celebes Explorer

MV Celebes Explorer, is the only liveaboard diving around Sipadan Island area. We provide diving around Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai and Si Amil islands. A week cruise with us will have 4 full days of diving (4-5 dives subject to weather condition) in Sipadan, which is well known for its pelagic and turtles. The rest will cover Mabul, Kapalai which are good for muck dives and finally Si Amil which is full of soft and hard corals as well as macros. All the diving activities are conducted through our chased boat which can comfortably fit in 10 guests at any one time. Our liveabord will overnight either at Mabul or Si Amil islands.

Onboard CE, all our 8 cabins, double bed and double decker, are private ensuited with hot water shower and air conditioned. Our spacious air conditioned saloon area are able to accommodate 16-20 guests comfortably to dine and chit-chatting at any one time. There is also a roomy sundeck on the top deck with sun beds for our guests to rest and relax. For guests who bring alone cameras, we have a camera rack for charging purposes just before the entrance to the saloon. The power supply onboard is 240 V. Our changing area at the back of deck is also roomy enough for guests to change before and after diving. A wash area is at the back lower deck with fresh water hosts for rinse purposes.

The food served on board are authentic Asian cuisine buffet style. A 24 hour self-service hot beverage corner as well as a supply of biscuits and bread with toast on the side for the convenient of our guests. There are other chargeable items on board like soft drinks, beers, wines, mineral water, t-shirts and WIFI Internet USB.

All together there are 12 crews and dive guides onboard to ensure our guests safeties and enjoy their dive holiday with us. With MV Celebes Explorer, our guests will be able to dive Sipadan in comfort everytime.

Day 1 - Arrival into Tawau-Semporna-Celebes Explorer ( Buffet Lunch /Buffet Dinner )
From Kota Kinabalu, take a flight to Tawau (Proposed flight BKI/TWU MH2121 0700/0745hrs OR BKI/TWU MH2137 1315/1400hrs) OR from Kuala Lumpur (Proposed flight KUL/TWU AK5152 0720/1005hrs).

Meet upon arrival at Tawau Airport and by land transfer to Semporna (about 1 hr drive). Embark on to Celebes Explorer.

There is no lunch & diving activities provides for those guests arrive by MH 2137

Day 2 - ( Buffet Breakfast/Buffet Lunch/Buffet Dinner )
Liveaboard Diving
(Probable dive site : Sipadan Island, Mabul Island, Kapalai Island, Si-Amil Island) – Subject to sea and weather conditions

Day 3 - Day 4 - Day 5 - Day 6 - Day 7 - ( Buffet Breakfast/Buffet Lunch/Buffet Dinner )
Liveaboard Diving

Number of dives depends on flight time on next day.
(Note: Please bear in mind requirement for surface interval before flight on next day)

Day 8 - Celebes-Semporna-Tawau & flight home ( Buffet Breakfast )
After an early breakfast, disembark from CE and depart for Semporna by transfer boat. Then by land transfer to Tawau Airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu (Proposed flight TWU/BKI MH2134 1440/1525hrs OR TWU/KUL AK5153 1030/1315hrs)

Very important note: Currently, Entry Permit Fees to Sipadan Island is @ RM 40 per person per day (subject to changes without prior notice). Celebes Explorer conducts 4 dives in Sipadan per day on every Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday (3 dives). The entry permit is subject to the approval of the Sabah Park.
