We are proud to introduce a new concept in the diving industry: a boutique liveaboard. "Damai" is an Indonesian word meaning "peaceful", and perfectly reflects our vision, providing tranquility above the water while avoiding crowds down below.

Dive-Damai is dedicated to small groups and offers the chance to enjoy diving remote areas in Indonesia, while experiencing unprecedented service and an unlimited amount of dives and bottom time.

The reefs and the boat are yours, we will be entirely at your disposal to make your holidays the best experience ever. Gourmet food, exceptional service and the best reefs all for you with a 3 divers per guide ratio.

ABOUT THE BOAT

The Msy Damai is being built in Bira, south Sulawesi, by Pak hadji Baso, the most prestigious builder in the area, combining tradtion with new techniques, as we are doing now with the scarf joints and floors. In February it will be in the water and we will spend 3 months doing the finishing to have her reeady at the beginning of June. July and August will be dedicated to do trips with friends and fine tune all the procedures and by September 2009 we will be fully operative.

The MSY Damai is being designed to offer that personal service that only a boutique liveaboard dedicated to small groups can provide.

DESTINATIONS

Our well trained and professional dive master team will be at your disposal. The low number of customers allows us to pay individual attention underwater and being able to know exactly what is that you want to achieve on the trip and try to provided, if Mother Nature behaves… We just want to see crowds of fish and corals surrounded but…you!!!!

Every destination in Indonesia has its own strength, let us share with you the different places we will be diving at and see what to find in each of them

• BALI Not only a great island, more famous for its culture than for its diving, Bali has treasures underwater: Great macro in the north and the Mola Mola in Nusa penida are just examples of it.

• KOMODO in a career that has spanned more than 35 years and 10,000 dives, a lot of the destinations blend together in my mind.

• TRITON BAY Of all the tropical reefs we have seen in our combined 70 years of diving, Triton Bay is at the top of the list for fish diversity.

• RAJA AMPAT These jewel like islands are caressed by a convergence of swift nutrient rich currents. Here the pulse of marine life thrives from the sea floor to the surface where the kaleidoscope of corals can start in less than a meter of water.

• DERAWAN The east coast of Kalimantan offers some of the most spectacular walls in indonesia.Schools of thousands of Barracudas, mantas, the unique jelly fish lake and the nesting turtles are its highlights.

• BANDA SEA Located between the much publicized Raja Ampat islands to the north and the venerable Komodo islands to the south, the Banda Sea is an exciting outpost that offers some of the most unique diving adventures to be found in the Indo-Pacific regions.

PROJECT DAMAI

From the very first booking we will dedicate 1$ per person per night dedicated to the project, as well donating 50% of every picture sold from our gallery. In order to avoid problems we will have an open account so that you can see where your money is and where it goes.

We will establish a fund to help our loyal crew when they retire, we offer them the chance to sign for it and after a period of time working with the company they will have gained access to some shares that will be dedicated exclusively to the crew ( 10%) and earned the right to get a monthly pension after retiring.

The other part of the funding will be spent in educational projects in the areas where we work, either in conjunction with other NGO´s or alone, to make it open we will scan all the invoices of where the money goes and you all will be able to monitor the fundings at all times. One of our goals will be the training of locals as dive guides so we can offer them a job whenever we visit the area.
