MV Odyssea 1

Odyssea Divers located at Wori Bay, Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, is just a 25-minutes air conditioned drive from Manado's Sam Ratalangi International Airport. The short drive through small villages and extensive coconut groves, lends a welcome to this tropical location of Northern Sulawesi - An area of outstanding natural beauty with warm, friendly people: Followed by an equally warm Odyssea welcome by our management staff.

Odyssea Divers began its journey in year Feburary 2004 lead by Martinus Wawanda (Manado) and Andrew Lok (Singapore). Building and recruitment for Odyssea Divers began during the late stages of Kima Bajo Resort & Spa construction in April with our first day boat, Angelina commissioned on 03 June 2004. In early stages, our development was concentrated in staff training and instilling them with our Odyssea Values. We started with a small team of locals who are experienced in our field and committed to train more locals and developed a training program for the neighbouring villagers.

Our first guests arrived in September 2004 and from then on, we have been serving our guests from all over the world dutifully and along the way, have gained from strength to strength in our facilities, services and value.

Today (June 2006), we have a total of 25 (Land Operations) and 24 (Ship Operations), of which 80% have gained employment through our development program. Our Development program has not ceased and many of the locals continue to benefit from our commitment to make a better future for all of us.

In 2007 (Summer), we will bring this commitment to our Dive Lodge - CocoTinos Dive Lodge opens to serve more divers, friends and family. Providing more opportunities to our neighbouring villages and Manado.

Odyssea Asia Pte Ltd, the managing company based in Singapore and its management and staff provide the support for international marketing awareness and communication. With this support, our services facilities are available in English, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese and more in the near future.

Our Odyssea Fleet

The Odyssea diving fleet now comprises of four day boats for resort based day diving, mini-safari boat MV Sabina and MV Odyssea 1. Hand built and crafted by our own carpenters. Our Live-aboards offers comfort, convenience to all divers with different budget.

Day Diving

Our day diving boats are all purposed built locally with our team of carpenters. We build our own boats as we can can control the design and quality. You can observe that all Odyssea boats are styled for convenient, feasibilityl and stylish. All our day boats serves drinking water, hot beverage and equipped with a seated toilet WC.

Live-aboard

Showing the world that quality Live-aboards can originate from the North Sulawesi, MV Odyssea 1 and MV Sabina are the pride of the locals here in Manado and Sangihe. Both ships are 100% built in Indonesia and is fully registered in Indonesia and MV Odyssea 1 certified for all Indonesian waters.

MV Sabina offers extended range trips into Bunaken, Lembeh, Bangka and Pulisan regions or sites like Popoh & Tasik Ria south-west of Manado Bay. Ideal for small groups that want exclusivity that charters can offer without straining the pockets.

MV Odyssea 1 is our luxury Live-aboard that offers extended range trips that MV Sabina covers and More! Sangihe, Halmahera, Papua ( formerly known as Irian Jaya), Central Sulawesi and beyond. Commissioned on April 11 2006 by Manado's Harbour Master Chief himself (pictured, extreme right), which is a real honour as the cheif does not personally go himself for other vessels. He has heard so much about the ship when it was being built that he made special effort to postpone ihs other engagements just to personally be onboard. MV Odyssea 1 has gain many recognition for her interiors, design and especially her cabins. She offers larger groups of up to 16 with plenty of room to spare.

Our Odyssea Land

Odyssea has brought a breath of fresh air to Northern Sulawesi with professionalism, quality, and enthusiasm, offering the discerning diver a flexible concept to the way they want to dive at their own time.

Based in Kima Bajo Resort & Spa, the dive centre boasts its own inifinty swimming pool (up to 3m in depth), a Digital Studio available to photographers & videographers, extensive equipment & camera hire, with a useful dive shop. Plenty of expert advice on hand; be it equipment, critter IDs or just a chat.

Both PADI & SSI courses are taught at the dive centre, so even if you don't come as a diver, you may very well leave as one! Comprehensive Digital photography courses are held with established photographers too.

Live-aboards

Odyssea Live-aboards are the latest additions to offer our guests since our inception to provide our services in Indonesia. We strived to create new perspective to Live-aboard design with valuable experiences from the owners, staff and friends.

Built locally by the craftsmen of Manado and Sangihe with the back up support of village residents after 14 months since Feburary 2005. We are proud to welcome you onboard MV Sabina and MV Odyssea 1.

MV Sabina is the live-aboard experience answer for families, group of friends, researchers or photographers who wants to dive privately. With essential necessities in mind, the boat is configured to ensure comfort and maximise space for cameras, diving and chilling out. Depending on your choice when you charter her, she can be luxury or economical depending on the group size that you want to have onboard.

MV Odyssea 1, is our luxury live-aboard venturing North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Moluccas Sea, Halmahera Sea and Raja Empat. Since her maiden voyage in April 2006, she has gain fans from all over the world with what she and her crew has to offer. She has satisfied the requirements of avid photographers (Even those with more than 2 cameras), lounging divers, tall divers and hungry divers. Her best features admired by all, especially the ladies, are the cabins and we think you will agree too when you come onboard.
