Komodo National Park
The National park of Komodo is one of two National heritage sites in Indonesia and was set up in 1980 to protect the unique species the Komodo Dragon, it is run by the Director General of Forest Conservation and Nature Conservation (PHPA). The park now encompasses the surrounding waters which are home to one of the richest fish faunas in the world. Also involved in the Park in the US based non profit organization The Nature Conservancy (TNC) they are assisting the Parks authorities with the development of the marine component of the Park's 25 year management plan. The park includes 41,000 ha of land and 132,000 ha of marine waters. The diversity of life in the park is enough to more than satisfy anyone coming to observe the life above or below the waters, be it for any type of Flora and Fauna, the Park and surrounding area has wonders abound.

Getting to the Dive Sites
We have the choice of twin engined speed boats to get to dive sites most are between 30 - 60 mins away, or you can choose to take the more leisurely route with our traditional boat which takes a minimum of 90 mins. Prices from $35 for 2 dives, includes Divemaster, lunch, tank and weights. Radio, Oxygen and First aid kit aboard.
What you can expect
A days diving includes 2/3 dives with a Padi Divemaster, lunch and refreshments on a perfect deserted island. Taken by speed boat or Traditional boat to the dive sites of your choice, after a Reef teach from your Divemaster and an orientation to the site, you will enter the water and gently sink under the crystal blue water, get ready to be amazed, your Divemaster will guide you though the endless procession of marine life awaiting you, critters spotted will be identified and logged after the dive.
What we expect.
We are here as visitors to the underwater world and expect our guests to treat the homes of all marine life the same you would treat the home of a friend, we have a strictly no touch, no take policy, if you want to capture something then please do it on film with your camera.
When to dive
The only month not advisable to go diving is February, the strong winds come from the West making many days impossible to get to any sites and stirring up the visibility.
Water Temperature
The temperature of the water varies from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius, but often cold upwellings can chill you, in the South upwellings can be as cold as 16 degrees from the Indian Ocean.
What to wear
Everyone feels the cold to different degrees, but we generally recommend at least 3mm full suits, we use 5mm full and often a shorty 3mm on top when it gets a little chillier, if you don't mind wearing a hood then bring it along too.
