In this tropical paradise you can explore one of the worlds most unspoiled marine wilderness areas, fully protected from spearfishing, coral or fish collecting, the rich coral life and unbelievable sea gardens are a diver's dream come true.

Spectacular marine life yields a kaleidoscopic submarine view of endless varieties of corals and tropical fish. The area consists of several National Parks, the best known diving areas are as follows; The Bunaken National Park and Lembeh Island. What you see will blow your mind, fantastic underwater walls, cut with many crevices and caves. A collection of marine life thrives: red and orange encrusting sponges, christmas tree worms, basket and tube sponges, soft and hard corals of all colors, sea fans, anemones stoked with clown fish, red-blue-pink and brown starfish, bright colored crinoids, giant tunicates, sea-whips, nudibranch (Spanish dancer), transparent and red striped coral shrimps, lobsters, crabs, thousands of ornamental coral fish and the larger pelagics. Often seen are giant Napolean wrasse, angel fish, turtles, blue ribbon eels, stingray and eagleray, snapper, grouper, tuna and sea-snakes. You will bewitched by the unspoiled beauty, nature at her very best. This is a world yet to be discovered

Minahasa Lagoon

North Sulawesi, in the Indonesian archipelago, is a fortunate region. You can find animals like the Babirusa - a frightening looking grey colored one-tusked gentle and shy herbivorous wild pig. Other exotic inhabitants in the forests of Minahasa include the magnificent Maleo bird, the Flying Dragon and the Tapir. Endemic wildlife and the myriad species of fish, flora and fauna are reasons enough to explore the region. Crystal clear rivers and streams, enchanting waterfalls, and lakes add to the fairytale landscape.

Not to be missed is Lake Linow; its waters are known to change from dark blue hues to intense turquoise, green and sulfur yellow; this phenomenon is due to the volcanic hot springs, which bubble close to the lake. Bountiful padi fields, aromatic spices, fruits like pineapples, mangos and rambutans are another of Minahasa's gift to its inhabitants and visitors. That is why it is called the place of the smiling people.

From the mid 1980s, Manado is considered one of the most rewarding destinations by aficionados of scuba diving. Its unique biodiversity makes it a sure-bet for a great dive holiday; more species of fish and coral have been catalogued in the region than anywhere else in the world. Within the radius is the Marine Park of Bunaken and Manado - where close to three thousand types of fish, and coral species exists through conservational efforts in their natural habitats. With excellent underwater visibility all year round, diving and snorkeling has never been so much fun.

Since antiquity, this site came to be called "Mangatasik" - "a beauty that leaves mouths open". And that is how we hope it will stay. The resort was designed to compliment the natural landscape. Our efforts and contributions to eco-conservation in Indonesia have received accolades from authorities in the region.

For the exterior and interior, we use quality wood from the Moluccus islands. For the final touches, we use stones from the region to immerse the installation with the environment. All the bungalows are built in the traditional architectural style of the place.

All rooms are fully air-conditioned with a view of the sea from the private veranda. The swimming pool is a safely enclosed area in the sea. The Jungle Restaurant is a unique dinning experience nestled amidst the rainforest high on the lagoon. Facilities for the elderly, children and the handicap are available. Electricity and fresh water are available at all times. The Diving Center, directed by European PADI instructors, offers top of the range equipment like Bauer compressors.

Everything is done to make your stay as comfortable as possible without damaging the wild beauty of the place.

Among the creatures that live in this happy land, the cutest is the Tarsius Spectrum, also called "The Gremlin of The Forest". We chose the tarsier as our logo, because of his extraordinarily large eyes. Just like the rest of us, he wears an expression that conveys perpetual awe at the sight of this beautiful place.

Diving

In addition to diving or Snorkeling in the world famous Marine Park of Bunaken, Minahasa Resort also offers excellent dive and Snorkeling sites right at its doorstep where a large variety of critters and other rare species can be seen just minutes away. Specially developed to accommodate premium dive excursions, our dive boats are comfortable, roomy, and equipped with individual tank and gear stations protected from the elements, diver first aid kits, pure oxygen tanks, marine heads and fresh water showers for rinsing off after dives. Our crew will happily set up, break down and rise your dive gear for you, while our experienced guides will safely show you all the underwater wonders of Bunaken. Whether you want to explore on your own with a dive master and boat captain at your command, or be taken on one of many pre-arranged group dive tours, our professional, certified dive team will guarantee a premium experience.

Our PADI registered dive centre is managed by multi-lingual, dive instructors, and offers PADI certifications up to Dive Master Level. The dive centre is fully equipped with state of the art Scubapro gear, the latest generation of Bauer Compressors, and Enriched Air (Nitrox membrane system). We offer 12 and 15 litre steel and aluminium tanks standard 80 cf with mono INT valves (double valve and DIN adaptors available). In case of medical need, the local Manado Hospital is equipped with a hyperbaric chamber that can be reached in less than one hour from most of the dive sites inclusive of the resort.
