North Sulawesi

If you have the desire for an exciting and unusual destination for your next dive holiday, then North Sulawesi is perfect. In this tropical paradise you can explore one of the worlds most unspoiled marine wilderness areas, fully protected from spearfishing, coral or fish collecting, the rich coral life and unbelievable sea gardens are a diver's dream come true.

Spectacular marine life yields a kaleidoscopic submarine view of endless varieties of corals and tropical fish. The area consists of several National Parks, the best known diving areas are as follows; The Bunaken National Park and Lembeh Island. What you see will blow your mind, fantastic underwater walls, cut with many crevices and caves. A collection of marine life thrives: red and orange encrusting sponges, christmas tree worms, basket and tube sponges, soft and hard corals of all colors, sea fans, anemones stoked with clown fish, red-blue-pink and brown starfish, bright colored crinoids, giant tunicates, sea-whips, nudibranch (Spanish dancer), transparent and red striped coral shrimps, lobsters, crabs, thousands of ornamental coral fish and the larger pelagics. Often seen are giant Napolean wrasse, angel fish, turtles, blue ribbon eels, stingray and eagleray, snapper, grouper, tuna and sea-snakes. You will bewitched by the unspoiled beauty, nature at her very best. This is a world yet to be discovered

Kima Bajo Resort & Spa

Nestled amongst undulating coconut grooves overlooking the tranquil Wori Bay and just minutes away from North Sulawesi's Bunaken National Park, Kima Bajo is a small upscale boutique resort which offers romance, luxury and every comfort a traveler could wish for.

Your choice of accommodation includes 19 villas each with a sunken outdoor bath and shower, 1 Grand Villa with its own private pool, and 12 spacious Long-House rooms. Each room is provided with en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, safety deposit box, mini bar and TV.

The resort is conveniently located just 25 minutes from Manado's international airport. Divers can expect world class dive and snorkel experiences while non divers take part in soft adventures available in the surrounding Minahasa Highlands or relax at the pool with beautiful views of Bunaken Island and Manado Tua and breathtaking sunsets over the Sea of Sulawesi.

Bunaken and North Sulawesi - Diving & Snorkeling with Eco Divers

Manado is an exotic year-round dive holiday destination and an area of outstanding natural beauty. The lush coconut palms, sandy beaches and pristine reefs of the Bunaken National Park are set against a magnificent backdrop of volcanoes and teeming rainforests. North Sulawesi offers so many diving delights, including the famous and intriguing Lembeh Strait, home to scores of rare camouflaged critters. Said to be the epicentre for marine life, there are more species to be found here than anywhere else on the planet, with new discoveries being made every day.

Eco Divers, based at Kima Bajo Resort & Spa, is a PADI 5 Star Center. Managers Luca Vaime (Italian) & Miho Takeda (Japanese) have already managed an upscale dive operation in North Sulawesi since 2005, so they know every bit of the Bunaken National Park. The purpose built boats are built in a traditional design, powered by energy efficient double outboard engines and have comfort features including sundeck, camera rinse tanks, WC and shaded salon. They take divers to over 30 dive sites with speed and comfort, each carrying a maximum of just 8 guest divers. Snorkellers and non-divers are also welcome to join the trips. Dive groups are kept very small - just 4 guests to each guide. At the jetty a camera storage facility with individual lockers is available for guests’ use.

Our daily dive program to Bunaken National Park offers a two-tank morning trip and one-tank afternoon trip. The morning trip departs at 8.15am and the boats return at around 1pm, so guests can enjoy lunch at Kima Bajo Resort. The afternoon trip departs at 3pm and returns by around 4.30-5.00pm. Night dives, special trips to Lembeh Strait and PADI dive courses can be arranged on request.
