On arrival at Windhoek International Airport, after proceeding through customs, passport control and collecting your luggage, you will be met by a Sefofane Namibia representative who will assist you to connect onto Sossusvlei by private air charter. Sunday 03 Aug 2008Half Day Private Peninsula Tour Leave the city along the picturesque Atlantic Seaboard past the fishing village of Hout Bay and head over the 600m heights of Chapmans Peak Drive, one of the world's most spectacular passes. Drive on past the Cape's longest beach near Noordhoek and down this beautiful coast (with a chance to see the Southern Right Whales offshore from June to November). Enter the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, for a chance to see endemic animals like Eland, Cape Mountain Zebra and Baboon. At the tip of the Peninsula at Cape Point, take a funicular to capture the magical vistas of False Bay at this south westernmost point of Africa - legendary amongst seafarers. Continue down False Bay coast for a visit to Boulders Beach and a close up with a colony of African Penguins, then head back to the city around midday through the naval village of Simontstown and over Boyes Drive, taking in views of the fishing harbour of Kalk Bay and the sea side havens of St James and Muizenburg. Monday 04 Aug 2008Full Day Private Winelands Tour Leave Cape Town and drive towards the Winelands region, nestled below the spectacular Boland Mountains, some 50 minutes drive from the city. Today will be a leisurely experience as you explore the Cape's wine route towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek, tasting the "fruits of the vines" and enjoying the charm and hospitality of this unique area. Estates visited vary and are selected after discussing personal preferences. Examples are Uitkyk, Warwick, Moreson, Mont Rochelle for fine red and white wines, and Glen Carlou or Fairview for wine and cheese tasting. Enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants in the area. A visit to the Paarl Bird Sanctuary can be included for the nature lovers, as well as a visit to the Afrikaans Language Monument with its indigenous gardens and sweeping views across the Boland. Drive to Boschendal and visit the historic estate with its beautifully preserved Cape Dutch buildings and its collection of priceless period furniture, giving insight into how the early settlers lived at the Cape. Visit Franschoek nestled in the "Valley of the Huguenots" where the French first settled in 1688. Visit the Huguenot Memorial and Museum and explore this country town with its lovely antique shops and gardens. Explore Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in the country, driving along Dorp Street with its beautiful Cape Dutch houses. Visit the museum to see the different styles of architecture in the Cape from the 17th century. Visit some of the many shops and galleries that this university town has to offer. On the edge of the oldest desert in the world, wildlife here is sparse but fascinating. Sightings of animals such as Springbok, Gemsbok, Ostrich, Bat-eared Fox and Aardwolf are exciting in these rugged conditions. Damaraland Camp accommodates guests in 10 comfortable tented rooms, with en-suite facilities including flush toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. As a result of water shortages, it is unfortunately not possible to offer a laundry service. The stone living area combines the dining room and pub and an open fire is enjoyed on calm evenings.
