  • Day One - PM Transfer from Quito Airport to San Jorge Eco-Lodge & Botanical Reserve.


  • Day Two - Shamanism Medicinal Plants and Sacred Waterfalls Tour at San Jorge Botanical Reserve we will trek to the highland tropical rainforest, visiting up to 15 sacred waterfalls. Here, we will learn about the medicinal attributes of the native plants, containing up to 250 varieties in the region. At the same time, you will take in the fabulous panoramic views of Quito, it's lush valleys and majestic mountains and the volcano peaks of Cayambe, Antizana, Pasochoa, Pululahua, Pichincha, and Illalo. Return to relax at the Lodge for the remainder of the day. Enjoy the tempered indoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish Bath and Jacuzzi .


  • Days Three-Four - - Horseback riding expedition for 2 days to the Rucu & Guagua Pichincha Volcano slopes & Alto Peru high barren plains. From there on it's Llama Trekking to the summit, on archaic hand-carved pathways as the ancient Inca (and Pre-Inca) travelled thousands of years ago. We will camp overnight in tents under the starry Andean sky, high in the Andes Mountains with horses. Return to San Jorge the next afternoon.


  • Day Five - Mountain Bike Trip (downhill) on the Nono-Tandayapa Road (45km - 28 miles), a world famous bird watching area. Hiking at Yumbos along a 1500 B.C., pre-Inca route in the Cloud Forest Pauma area. Stop for a bath in a sacred jungle river.


  • Day Six - Biking to Cala CaLì (42km - 26 miles) We begin the day by cruising through the Nono Alto Andes Valley where we visit the forgotten village of Nono, (ancient warrior). Next we will cross all the farm areas and the foothills of Caitagua Volcano (inactive), we pass through on a third-class route, farms where fight bulls are raised and we arrive to Cala Calì Village a traditional village once favored by smugglers transporting sugar cane liquor from the coastal interiors. Here, we will witness the Original Monument of the Middle of the World. Centered directly on the Equator, the monument is located in the 'middle of the world'. One wheel in the North and the other in the Southern hemisphere!


  • Day Seven - Otavalo Indian Market Trip (25km - 16 miles) World famous for it's woven textiles, and Otavalan Indian culture. Visiting by bike allows for great sightseeing of gorgeous San Pablo Lake, and sacred Imbabura Mountain. Upon arriving at the market, we will experience the vibrant array of richly hued and beautifully crafted tapestries and clothing. Feel the warm touch of the native villages and traditional neighborhoods of Agato, Otavalo, San Pablo del Lago, Peguche, Iluman along the way. By being on bike, we will have the opportunity to visit traditional houses and textile factories in the surrounding areas! A real touch of native Ecuador by bike and an unforgettable cultural experience.


  • Day Eight - Whitewater River Rafting After breakfast we will set off for rafting on the Toachi or Blanco River, depending on which river is running the highest that day. After an informative session and receiving our gear, we will be ready to enjoy exciting & natural rivers with fantastic wild sightseeing. As our day rolls down the river the rugged history of the canyons unfold before our eyes. Relishing quiet moments of pristine Andean beauty, we'll have just enough time to prepare for the next exhilarating section of rapids! At the end of the day we will return to San Jorge for a relaxing evening.


  • Day Nine - - Hiking or biking in the Cotopaxi National Park. (28km - 17 miles) Our adventure begins as we drive south for 2 hours to Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the World. Following dirt roads through volcanic ash and páramo (desert) landscape dotted with pink & yellow flowers to Incan ruins at 3700mts. Here we will stop for lunch, keeping an eye out for majestic condors in the skies above. In the afternoon, we roll past shimmering Limpiopungo Lake, through wonderfully scented pine forests. As our day progresses, we will also visit Ruminahui, Pasochoa, and the Sincholagua Mountains, areas considered sacred by the Incas


  • Day Ten - AM Transfer to Quito Airport

Includes: Lodging - based on double occupancy, 3 meals per day, transportation, transfers, bilingual guides, local guides, tents, horses, mountain bikes, helmet and rafting.

Excludes: Travel or medical insurance, personal expenses, extra meals, National park entrance fees
