Fiji Shark Diving - The Lagoon Resort Fiji
Moodys Namena - Namenalala Island
Namenalala Island lies 15 miles off the southeastern
coast of Vanua Levu and remained uninhabited in recent history until
its rediscovery in 1983 by your hosts, Tom and Joan Moody. The island
resembles a sleeping dragon, rising dramatically from the sea. The
resort accommodates only ten guests at a time, so you don't have
to bump into anyone else if you don't want to - or you can socialize
all you want - it's your island.
Five hexagon shaped bures crafted of hardwood floors and woven
bamboo walls are hidden among towering native trees. Each has its
own spectacular view of reefs and beaches. Your private bure has
floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, a king-sized canopy bed (or two
twin beds), two bathrooms connected by an oversize shower and a
wrap-around deck. You'll also find coffee/tea facilities, hot and
cold running water and 24 hour lights.
Scuba enthusiasts will find world-class diving on the Namena Barrier
Reef with over 30 miles of pristine reefs to explore. Some favorite
dive sites are the Four Sisters, the Dragon's Lair, the Fish Patch,
Grand Canyon, Gateway, the Seven Dwarfs and Ming Gardens.
