Cocos Island scuba diving is only reached by liveaboards.

Undersea Hunter Group

Hammerhead - Cocos Island LiveaboardsHammerheads in Cocos IslandCocos Island, lying isolated in the tropical Pacific, three hundred miles southwest of Costa Rica, is an ocean oasis. Its isolation is the essence of its magic. For decades the hideout of pirates and adventurers, Cocos Island is recognized today as among the last truly wild places in nature.

A distinctive and remote diving location, Cocos Island is for the serious diver. In the world-renowned waters surrounding Cocos Island you will dive with white tips and hammerhead sharks, dolphins, manta rays up to 18 across, marbled sting rays approaching 6 in diameter, giant moray eels, sailfish, and an occasional whale shark! Additionally, you will see large schools of jacks and tuna, creole fish, octopus and other various reef life. Silky sharks, silver tips, marlin, and green turtles are also in the area. In an era where ecological catastrophe haunts us at every turn, Cocos Island stands today as an example of natural harmony.

The Cocos Island Liveaboards: Undersea Hunter Group offer live-aboard experiences that are unmatched in the comforts, the food, the excellent service, and of course the spectacular locations they provide. Avi Klapfer and Yosy Naaman have combined their over 30 combined years of live-aboard experience, and years of planning and advice from leading professionals in the diving industry, to create the singular designs of these two vessels. The drive of these two men and their vision have created a new standard for what live aboards are expected to provide to diving expeditions.

Whaleshark - Cocos Island LiveaboardsThe Cocos Island Liveaboards: Undersea Hunter Group are also extremely well suited to support special projects. They can provide support vessel functions for underwater film productions, oceanographic research, research with submersibles, marine salvage, search and recovery, and supply and transport duties. Contracting one of our boats is contracting both a boat and a crew with years of experience in the above areas.

Our boats also offer full technical diving support and courses. During one of our trips a diver can become certified in diving with Nitrox and Rebreathers. Nitrox allows divers to have longer bottom time at any given depth and less fatigue and a clearer head, and rebreathers allow divers to come within feet of the most spectacular animals in the world, something impossible with noisy bursts of bubbles.

Our prime destination is the extraordinary Cocos Island, a place of enchanting natural beauty, which has recently been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It has been recognized as one of the most outstanding dive locations in the world and offers more pounds of fish per gallon than you will encounter anywhere: hammerhead sharks, tuna, jacks, snappers, whitetip sharks, manta rays, marlins, dolphins, goat fish, groupers and even occasional whalesharks and humpback whales.

Join us for one of our adventures into this magnificent and spectacular marine environment! Cocos Island Liveaboards: Undersea Hunter Group assure you a trip of a lifetime.
