Safari is Swahili for "journey" and it is in Kenya where safaris began. Magnificent national parks and reserves brim with wildlife. Lush forests and breathtaking mountains provide awe inspiring photographic opportunities. Fascinating tribal cultures abound and the amazing variety and quantity of bird life are an ornithologist's paradise. The massive Great Rift Valley is no more impressive than in Kenya. The 310 miles of golden beaches of the Kenyan Coast invite the visitor to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The small islands off the coast beckon.

But it is perhaps the wildlife more than anything that draws visitors to Kenya. The annual migration from the Serengeti in the south into the Masai Mara sees more than one million wildebeest, along with a host of other plains game, assemble in giant herds. Kenya boasts some of the finest reserves in Africa - and visitors will be thrilled at the sight of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, gazelle, buffalo, hippo, rhino - and hundreds more.

Day 1 :Wed Depart USA
Depart on your overnight flight to Europe.

Day 2 Thu Enroute
Arrive in Europe early this morning. This evening, depart on the overnight flight to Nairobi.

Day 3 Fri Arrive Nairobi
Upon arrival early this morning, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, drive to Karen Von Blixen's former home, now a museum. Continue to the Giraffe Center where you can feed and photograph giraffe from an elevated platform. Return to the hotel early this evening. Landmark Hotel

Day 4 Sat Nairobi-Aberdares
Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drive north to Nyeri and the Outspan Hotel. After lunch, continue to your tree hotel for a nocturnal game viewing experience. Treetops BLD

Day 5 Sun Aberdares-Lake Nakuru
Return to the Outspan for breakfast, and then drive around the northern part of the Aberdares Range to descend into the Great Rift Valley, arriving in time for lunch. The lake is famous for its million plus flamingos which migrate along the Rift Valley Lakes. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru Lodge BLD

Day 6 Mon Lake Nakuru-Lake Naivasha
Following breakfast drive south along this scenic valley to Lake Naivasha. After lunch, take a boat ride on the lake, viewing hippo and a wealth of bird life. Lake Naivasha Country Club BLD

Day 7 Tue Lake Naivasha-Masai Mara
Leave early today, climbing out of the Rift Valley, to enter the Masai Mara Reserve, part of the Serengeti ecosystem. After lunch, be ready to experience some of the best game viewing in Kenya's most exciting game reserve. Keekorok Lodge BLD

Day 8 Wed Masai Mara
Morning and afternoon game drives should reveal lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, topi, hartebeest, cheetah, gazelle, wart hog, and abundant bird life. Keekorok Lodge BLD

Day 9 Thu Masai Mara-Nairobi-Depart
Return to Nairobi after breakfast, arriving at your hotel early this afternoon. Rooms have been reserved until your late evening departure. Landmark Hotel (day room) B

Day 10 Fri Arrive USA
Connect in Europe this morning for your USA-bound flight, arriving later today.
