Underwater visibility can reach 30 meters at times but can be reduced when currents rich with plankton reach the area or during the rainy season between January & February. . Temperature of the water can reach 30 degrees Celsius in March and can drop to 26 in July-August.
Most dives are between the depths of 8-20 meters, most dives are amongst coral reefs, coral heads and different rock formation. These are home to a rich population of tropical fishes, large numbers of pelagic such as sharks, barracudas, jacks and tunas as well as schools of rays and turtles. A variety of marine life can also be seen during day and night dives. Further away from the islands and the reefs, lies the drop off from the continent shelve. In this area, we can find beautiful wall dives. These dives are often accompanied by currents. Madagascar is regularly visited by whale sharks and Manta rays especially during the period of October, November & December.
Humpback whale can often be seen between July to September/October.
